Canadian-American Currency
I was in Niagara Fall, Ontario, Canada last weekend. It was a wonderful trip, but it was expensive. At that time the exchange was $1.05 CA for $1.00USA. When I went to Cold Lake, Alberta in June 2007 the exchange rate was even better than that. As I type this post the exchange rate is almost dead even. The good thing about Canada is that their money is still backed by gold. That is not true in the US. Soon it will be $1.05 US to $1 CA. This does not encourage me to go back to Canada. There needs to be an economic change in the US. I am not an economist so I do not know what needs to be done. If I need a Canadian fix, I can get Tim Horton's coffee in the US, view the falls on the US side, and rent Strange Brew.
